Here’s some stuff I like, and think you should investigate.

After Aura

After Aura are a band containing some of my favourite people. I’ve known most of them for many a year and in various guises, and I’m sure they won’t mind me saying this current set up is the best thing I’ve heard from any of them. A Folk-Rock blend worthy of comparisons to The Decemberists.

Andrew Bert Greaves Photography

Bert is my “brother from another mother”, as I believe the cool kids say nowadays. I’ve known him since we were babies and we were in the band, The Haiku together for 6 years. He’s a great drummer, but an ever better photographer. Go and look at his photos and support art of a different kind.

Frome FM

Just down the road from me is the wonderfully artistic town of Frome. It’s been the location of many wonderful gigs, and the sense of community means that their local radio station is one of the best. It’s run by real enthusiasts and active encourages an interest in the musical talent that the area contains.

Jack Moore

Jack is another songwriter I’ve been lucky enough to share many a gig with. He’s got a punk attitude and mixes it with some top tunes and a stomp box that keeps everything driving along. His acoustic cover of Ace of Spade is inspired.

Jamie R Hawkins

I met Jamie when playing on the Wiltshire circuit and as well as being a top chap, he’s a great songwriter with a real ability to look at things from a slightly different angle. Also one of his songs makes my cry, and I’m not ashamed to admit it.

Jess Vincent

Jess is a wonderful singer-songwriter in the vein of Joni Mitchell and Joan Baez, who is making quite a splash in the folk/roots world.

Make Votes Matter – Proportional Representation
Organisation set up to increase awareness of voting reform. MVM campaigns for a fairer voting system using a form of proportional representation.

Nudy Bronque

One of my favourite bands to watch, and great guys to boot. Properly experimental in that they do whatever feels right, and have fun seeing where the music takes them. Well worth checking out.

Prime Photography

Simon (AKA Prime Photography) is someone else I’ve known for pretty much all of my life. A superb photographer who has provided many a publicity photo and album cover art for my projects over the years.

Safe Gigs For Women

Safe gigs for women is an initiative established by regular gig goers with the aim of creating a safer environment for women at gigs. Sadly, an organisation like this is still required. I will always do my utmost to ensure my gigs are safe for everyone.

Sheer Music

Sheer is pretty much Kieran Moore (along with willing volunteers). Kieran is a promoter of live music, but does far more for the music scene in Wiltshire than just put gigs on. He works harder than anyone else I know to bring in established artists and uses that to help support up and coming acts and give them much needed exposure.

The Shout

I also play bass in a Britpop/Indie Covers band called The Shout. We’ll bring you hits from Blur, Oasis, Supergrass, The Bluetones, The Stone Roses, James, Inspiral Carpets and anyone else you remember from the 90s.

Village Pump Folk Festival

I’ve been involved with the village pump folk festival as stage manager since 2012 and in my opinion it’s the best “small” folk and roots festival going.
